Welcome to the official website of Alex Heard, elite junior golfer. At 14 years old, Alex is a “straight-A” student through all of Middle School through the 1st semester of 8th grade. He earned the President’s Education Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence, and was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. He is an all-around athlete who played middle school flag football, basketball and golf. He played #1 on his high school golf team as an 8th grader, earning the MVP award for his great play and leadership. Alex enjoys tennis, rides his bike, paddle boards, swims, and plays competitive junior golf throughout the US on the AJGA, Hurricane, FSGA, and SFPGA junior golf tours.
His tournaments are generally played from approximately 6,700 yards, and he holds a USGA 1.7 handicap. His low competitive round in 2018 was 68, where he won his first Hurricane Junior Tour event on a course he had never seen. His career low round is 63, when he won the Doral-Publix Junior Golf Championship. He won the 2017 South Florida PGA Challenge Tour Player of the Year award for his overall performance, winning his final 5 tournaments in a row. This string culminated with the Tour Championship, where he fired a 1-under par 70 in the final round, featuring a 4-under 32 to overcome a 5-stroke deficit on the final 9 holes.
Alex is a smart and compassionate young man who, in addition to his sports, gives his time and energy to help others. His 48 birdies for 2017 allowed him to win the South Florida PGA Birdie Club, with a total donation pledge amount of $4,272 for the South Florida PGA Foundation. He also won the Birdie Club award for 2016 by raising more than $8,000 for charity.
